Coastal Dynamics'13 will be held 24-28 June 2013 in Arcachon, France. This conference will be co-organized by the METHYS Group from EPOC Laboratory - University of Bordeaux and the French Naval Hydrographic and Oceanographic Office (SHOM) at the Arcachon Convention Centre.
June is one of the best period of the year to appreciate the beauty of the Arcachon & Bordeaux region. The Arcachon Region is blessed with endless straight natural high-energy, sometimes very rippy, beaches bordered by high dunes. The Arachon Lagoon is lovely place with, for instance, a large tidal inlet, highly-dynamic banks and the highest dune in Europe (Dune du Pilat). Bordeaux city has been recently declared UNESCO world heritage site. Bordeaux has hundreds of classified buildings which represent an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble of the 18th century. The Bordeaux Region, which is surrounded by vineyards and chateaux, has made its own worldwide reputation with its wine and gastronomy with some of the most prestigious wines in the world. A little more inland, tidal bores can be obserbed along the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers. This is all within a 50-km radius!
